I had a great conversation with Derek, it lasted two hours, where he entertained my overly ambitious and not-fully-thought-out-ideas, thank you Sensei!
I’m just glad im getting more and more comfortable asking him questions.

Affinity designer
This is going great!!
We learnt more about affinity designer. I made a cool graphic on it. its cool knowing that its something I can do. I don’t really consider myself an artsy type, I wish I was, but I grew up being a math/science/soccer/gaming kina guy. we didn’t even have arts stuff in my high school. which is sad, cause i think i could have easily been a theatre kid.
but as usual your environment is a big player in how you be.
Coding-y stuff
We also were introduced to Codepen, a great place to do online html/CSS-ing, and have the results happen right infront of you. its like the perfect thing for the kind of person that would want to work in “front-end”
I was able to recreate an image into a site. i think i did a great job if I do say so myself, though there’s definitely areas where i could be efficient. there’s so many ways to select an element in CSS and deciding if I want to evoke one using

will likely need me to use it more. just like the dreaded war between the Paddingtons vs Marginias

I had an idea to write about some not-fully fleshed out thoughts i’ve been having about straightness. but I guess I was too scared. but this is supposed to be my space, to share whateverthefuck I want to. and who sticks around sticks around. i say that, but lets see.

Movies
Alas, i’ve not watched anything yet. i’m trying to solve this like i solved my reading issue. my biggest problems come from the fact i get overwhelmed by analysis paralysis.
The way i solved that with books is by literally just deciding in advanced. so i have 3 queues, and each has like 10+ books, so i don’t have to think about it for a while, and when i do, ill be in a different “decide” headspace rather than “i need to read something now but cant decide aaaaahh”
so i did implement queues for movies. and setup dedicated days for each queue. now i just need to execute. Im trying to get through like IMDBs top 250. like i’m guaranteed to like most things on there…surely.
the plan is to watch a movie once a week, so its a project that would take years to complete. sounds fun! but i had a glimpse of this experience before, for like twoish weeks. i just love stories, and i love how, WHOLEY experiences movies are. they are like landmarks in time and my days.
They tinge my day with their color and i love having that color through that day and to look back on.
Infact an idea for making a website comes from these queues, and my own analysis paralysis.
The way it would work it that the list/queue would be tied to a day, id be able to go onto the site and it’d just show me that day’s movie and nothing else. and then if i want to, i can scroll up to see the stuff ive watched. but nothing into the future.
that seems a more backend-y thing than front endy. but cool fading, and posters, and colors extraction from those posters is brewing in my noggin.

I finished Harry potter, first book. nice, sweet, cool extra stuff from the movies.
and i wasnt planning to read the next one for a while, so i started Enemies of the State
which is a (a or an?) MM Romance, and those tend to be smutty 😏 andit has been a whoile since ive indulged in one. Its about a new and young Widowed US President and his blossoming relationship with the head of his security detail. im hoping it goes the route of the white house blowing up, cause that’s always fun! add in their character tropes falling in love. sounds like a blast to me!!@!!
one day we shall have our gay Action live-action movie!! now this was before the amazing Hogwarts Legacy gameplay trailer. and IM DEFINETLY playing that. so ill probably be jumping back into HP after this!
